Unique operation was performed at University hospital of KFU

Urologists of the surgical clinic of University Hospital of Kazan Federal University (KFU) performed percutaneous nephrostolithotomy using thulium laser for the first time in Tatarstan. The 63-year-old patient was operated in the clinic.
Percutaneous nephrostolithotomy is a method of percutaneous crushing and removal of kidney stones. This type of surgical treatment was performed in 1976 for first time and now it is the method of choice in the treatment of large kidney stones.
