Tatarstan ranks first in the Volga Federal District in terms of low mortality, in terms of birth rate and natural increase, and holds a leading position in terms of low infant mortality. According to the results of the last year, the lowest infant mortality rate in the republic over the past decades has been recorded, which amounted to 4.0 per 1,000 live births.
