The Medical Center of the Universiade Village- «Youth-Friendly Clinic» under the project of Children's fund of the United Nations
On the first of September a solemn opening of the Medical Center of Village of the Universiade took place. In the Medical Center all the basic methods of research are presented, including an endoscopic room, a fluorographic room where there is a digital apparatus which allow to save and transmit images, to carry out remote consultations of the leading medical centers if necessary. Each therapeutic room is equipped with the electrocardiography equipment, electron balance, apparatus blood pressure apparatus. There are two USE rooms, a unit of radiologic diagnostics, an X-ray department, surgical and traumatologic rooms.
The conditions created in the Medical Center, allow to make exact diagnostics, well-timed prophylaxis and qualitative treatment with the maximal comfort for patients. Here, including, the acute care can be rendered. There is a day time hospital, physiotherapeutic unit, the unit of doping control, an infectious diseases room.
Already today the medical personnel of the centerrenders a medical care to sportsmen-participants of test actions of the V world championship on rowing on kayaks and canoe among students and to sportsmen of IV world championship among students on the sports shooting, living in Village of the Universiade. Sportsmen receive a necessary out-patient-polyclinic and urgent medical care, a work on rendering a medical care during carrying out of the University Games is fulfilled.
The Medical Center has won a grant of UNICEF(the International children's fund of the United Nations) under the name « Youth-Friendly Clinic » (YFC). This institution rendering the complex medical and psychological-and-social help on problems of preservation of health, in view of specificity of adolescents age. The ideology of YFC is implemented through rendering assistance to teenagers and youth through comprehension of their problems, and also joint search of ways of change of the behaviour, directed to preservation of health.
YFC assumes such an organization of structure, at which any young man has a real opportunity of reception of services. Procedure of appealing to YFCis simple, all services appear free of charge. Work of clinics begins with consultation which proceeds at all subsequent stages (diagnostics, treatment, an aftertreatment) and is supplemented with social-and-psychological support. Thus, unlike other medical institutions, YFCrenders wider spectrum of services. Addressed person receives the complex help - not only medical, but also psychological and social. Basic purpose of YFCis conservation of health of teenagers and youth through treatment and aftertreatment, prophylaxis of diseases, information and advisory support, and also by creation of psychologically comfortable conditions for each client of clinic. The feature of the new medical institution is that, except for usual young patients from 15 till 18 years of age, teenagers got in a difficult vital situation and requiring the help of experts-physicians will be observed here free of charge. They will be voluntary followed up by experts who plan to work with teenagers, using the form of confidential conversations with the subsequent necessary treatment.
Besides experts of the clinic will hold conversations and lectures among teenagers in educational institutions. The Medical Center carries out medical survey of students for settling to hostels of the Universiade Village and of Kazan; for today a survey of more than 15 000 persons is carried out.

Within the limits of realization of the Concept of medical, anti-doping and sanitary-and-epidemiologic maintenance of XXVII World summer University Games of 2013 in a city of Kazan and according to the plan of its implementation in the Universiade Village, construction of the Medical Center of the Village is completed. The given Medical Center will render a primary medicosanitary, emergency and specialized medical care in a round-the-clock regimen to participants of the Universiade, to family members of FISU. On the 1st floor the block of an acute management including the intensive care room, a surgical room with a clean and dirty dressing rooms, a traumatology room with a cast room where surgeons, traumatologists, resuscitators will render a medical care, is arranged. In immediate proximity there is a unit of radiology diagnostics consisting of radiological and fluorographic rooms, and two rooms of ultrasonic diagnostics. Also on the ground floor there are the infectious diseases block, endoscopic rooms, a room for taking blood equipped with pneumomail.
On the 2nd floor therapeutic, stomatologic units, rooms of experts (ophthalmology, otolaryngology, cardiology, neurology, echocardiographies, functional diagnostics) are located
On the 3rd floor the clinicodiagnostic laboratory, a gynecology department, a unit of routine inspections are located.
On the 4th floor the day time hospital, physiotherapeutic unit and massage rooms, the unit of doping control, the administrative unit are located.
Already today the medical personnel of a student's out-patient department are ready to render a highly skilled out-patient-polyclinic medical care in 49 kinds of activity. By 2013 experts of a student's out-patient department can work through the technology of the organization of medical maintenance of participants and visitors of the Universiade during the period of games.
