Surgeons of University clinic of KFU performed a rare two-component surgical intervention

3 September 2019, Tuesday

A 64-year-old patient was admitted to the University clinic with a diagnosis of coronary heart disease. He had the first signs of heart rhythm disorders four years ago, against the background of this disease.

The uniqueness of the operation was that coronary bypass surgery and radiofrequency isolation of pulmonary veins on an open working heart were performed simultaneously and without extracorporeal blood circulation. Such intervention requires a high level of training of the surgeon.
