1 October 2019, Tuesday

The first patient operated by CRCH neurosurgeons on the new equipment was a 5 years old child with brain pathology. The child has an isolated IV ventricle of the brain, which is one of the variants of multilevel occlusive hydrocephalus, the most severe in the clinical course and difficult in choosing the tactics of surgical treatment. In this case, child had hydromyelia-pathology of the spinal canal, in which cavities are formed in the thickness of the spinal cord. Hydromyelia contributes to the violation of the musculoskeletal system and muscle tissue atrophy. The operation will significantly improve the prognosis of the child's recovery.
