Why should pregnant women get the flu shot?

- Pregnant women with the flu need hospitalization 4 times more often than non-pregnant women;

- The most severe flu occurs in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy;

- More than 8% of hospitalized pregnant women (mainly in the third trimester of the disease) need intensive care;

- The mortality rate from influenza among patients in the third trimester of pregnancy is maximum and reaches 16.9%, with a mortality rate of 6% among all hospitalized adults;

- Premature birth in pregnant women with the flu is observed 3 times more frequent;

- Perinatal mortality is 5 times higher.
