In the Medical-and-Sanitary Centre of Almetyevsk operations on replacement of knee joints by artificial implants have been performed

For the first time in the southeast of RT in the Medical-and-Sanitary Centre of Almetyevsk operations on a knee joint replacement are successfully performed. A team of orthopedists of the Medical Centre under the direction of Ildar Akhtyamov, professor,the chief of traumatology and orthopedy and extremal states surgery chair of KSMU,  performed the first operations on knee joint replacement to three patients (2 men, 1woman).
Development of technical progress has led to appearance of the materials, capable to replace the worn-out joint by the artificial one. As well as the usual knee joint, artificial joint exactly repeats elements of the normal one.
Implementation of the modern, progressive operative treatment of diseases and traumas of large joints underlines readiness of the Unit of Traumatology of the Medical Centre for the further enhancement and fruitful mastering of all advanced techniques of the medicine being on guard of health of the population.
