Nikolay Ivanovich Chugunov worked as a chief physician in the Republican Clinical Hospital -2 for 40 years.
He got through the entire war to meet his love. He built a hospital - one of the best in Tatarstan. He raised a family that preserved the tradition of caring for people.
Nikolai Chugunov enrolled at the Kazan Medical Institute in 1937, but didn’t finish it. In 1941 he was drafted into the army. He got to the front at the most tragic time in July 1942, when German troops were rushing to the Volga. He passed the Battle of Stalingrad as a regimental doctor, since October as a divisional doctor he passed the Battle of Stalingrad. He participated in the Battle of Kursk, the Battle of the Dnieper and the Liberation of Bulgaria.
