19 October 2020, Monday

The Center for Medical Prevention continues to inform workforce about health maintenance. Last Friday, methodologist Svetlana Vyachkileva talked with the staff of school No. 5 and reminded the audience about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

⠀"Having worked as a therapist for many years, I can say that almost half of the patients come to us with diseases of the cardiovascular system. Firstly, when see a lot of cases of hypertension, often already in advanced form, coronary heart disease, various heart rhythm disorders, etc. As a rule, patients start taking measures only when the disease has already manifested itself.  In such cases, we can treat and try to avoid serious complications, such as heart attack, stroke, kidney damage, thrombosis, and embolism. The main cause of cardiovascular diseases is atherosclerosis, which affects the walls of blood vessels. Most often, the disease manifests itself in adulthood. Still, due to poor nutrition, excess weight, smoking, and insufficient physical activity, the condition can develop as early as at 30 years of age. “

So far, the CMP specialists are conducting lectures off-line, of course, with all the necessary precautions. "However, if restrictions are imposed due to the epidemic situation, we are ready to conduct classes online using Zoom," said Ravil Garipov, the Central Medical Center's Chief physician.  "Cardiovascular diseases are the first cause of mortality in Tatarstan. So now, when clinics and hospitals are overloaded, it is important for us to work on prevention. This is our tenth lecture in October, with more than 300 students attending. In addition, during lectures, you can ask questions about the organization of medical care. The most commonly asked question is about getting an appointment and how to see a specialist, or receiving subsidized medication. Our specialists provide explanations on the spot, or if the situation requires a targeted investigation, the issue is taken into account and necessarily resolved positively for the patient."
