The Ministry of Нealthcare of Russia, with the support of Gorky automobile plant and Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare, continues the annual all-Russian campaign for free anonymous rapid HIV testing. The Republic of Tatarstan will be the last - 45th region to host the campaign "HIV Test: Expedition 2020".
On June 26, 2 Expedition teams at the same time left Kamchatka and Kaliningrad to meet each other across the country and meet on November 16 in Kazan at the closing of the campaign. Now recognizable mobile testing stations – MTS) - branded GAZ cars in white with a wide red ribbon and the inscription " HIV Test: Expedition 2020 " this year will pass 216 cities in 45 regions of Russia, including the regions of the Far North and the North Caucasus. The campaign will be the largest in recent years, which will provide an opportunity to tell people living throughout Russia about the problem of HIV/AIDS.
From November 11 to 16, HIV testing will take place in 5 localities of the Republic: Almetyevsk, Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Zelenodolsk, Nizhnekamsk. The test will take only 15 minutes, and during this time everyone will be able to learn about HIV transmission routes, prevention methods, as well as discuss personal risks with a specialist and what to do if the test is still positive.
Anyone can get infected with HIV, regardless of age, gender, or social status, but you can overcome it: with proper treatment you can live with HIV. This will be discussed at awareness-rising seminars that will be held in the cities of the campaign. At lectures for primary healthcare physicians, specialists will talk about the features of pre-test and post-test counseling, and training films will clearly show various models of dialogue and the role of physicians in patient counseling.
In addition to the activities for the professional community within the framework of the campaign will take place school-wide parent meetings. Teachers and parents of schoolchildren will learn about the ways of HIV transmission, how to tell children about HIV and correctly answer to arising questions. This will be the basis for their future safe behavior in relation to HIV infection and other diseases.
The campaign "Test for HIV: Expedition 2020" will end on November 16. In Kazan, at the solemn closing ceremony of the all-Russian campaign of the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia with the participation of representatives of federal and regional authorities, the results of the all-Russian campaign and its key events will be announced.
The campaign will be held in compliance with all necessary sanitary and epidemiological measures designed to prevent the spread of a new coronavirus infection.
