President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the new cancer center in Naberezhnye Chelny. He was accompanied by the Minister of Health Care of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Sadykov and the Mayor of Avtograd Nail Magdeev.
Outpatient and radiological centers were built as part of the modernization of the Naberezhnye Chelny branch State Autonomous Healthcare Institution "Republican Clinical Oncology Dispensary of the Ministry of Health Care of the Republic of Tatarstan". The centers are designed for 100 thousand visits and 30 thousand sessions of radiation therapy per year. The support of the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan made possible the construction timed to the 50th anniversary of public joint-stock company "KAMAZ".
The purpose of the project is to reduce the mortality rate from malignant neoplasms in the North-Eastern region of Tatarstan to 175 cases per 100,000 population, to bring the proportion of early detection of malignant neoplasms to 65%, and the five-year survival rate after the diagnosis of malignant neoplasms should be at least 60%.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan was informed that the entire technological cycle for providing specialized cancer care (preventive work, diagnostics, specialized treatment, dispensary observation) will be concentrated in one place. This will significantly reduce the time for an establishment of the diagnosis, increase its accuracy and start specialized treatment as quickly as possible to save the lives of citizens.
Over the past 2 years, the work has been carried out to attract and train personnel. 31 specialists were hired, including 14 oncologists, 2 radiologists, 3 ultrasound diagnostics physicians, 3 endoscopists.
Today, construction and installation work is almost 100% complete. Currently, starting-up and adjustment works of electrical and low-current systems and installation of medical equipment are underway.
