Vaccination against coronavirus infection for health workers is ongoing in Tatarstan

17 December 2020, Thursday

Nizhnekamsk Central District Multifunctional Hospital received 80 doses of the first batch of the combined vector vaccine "Sputnik V" for the prevention of coronavirus infection. It is planned that medical workers, as well as education personnel, social and transport workers, volunteers, and all those who are at risk will be vaccinated first.

Today, employees of the Directorate of Health, Nizhnekamsk Central District Multifunctional Hospital and Children's City Hospital with Perinatal Center have passed the procedure of vaccination first.

In order to be vaccinated, doctors had to pass through several stages. The first and foremost is the collection of anamnesis. If there is a history of contact with a patient with acute respiratory viral infection or coronavirus infection, during the previous 14 days before vaccination, a PCR testing is performed. A smear for coronavirus infection is taken 48 hours before vaccination.

Also, all medical workers were tested for the presence of antibodies using rapid tests before vaccination.

"This is a high-quality rapid test for the detection of M and G class antibodies. We can get the test result in 15 minutes," says Margarita Zhukova, head of the clinical and diagnostic laboratory. - In order to get vaccinated against a new coronavirus infection, a prerequisite is the absence of antibodies in the medical worker, as well as the absence of a history of signs of acute respiratory viral infection and allergic reactions. Also contraindications are malaise and exacerbation of chronic diseases."

Age is limited; currently people from 18 to 60 years are allowed to be vaccinated. All vaccinated doctors will be under the supervision of epidemiologists and therapists. The "Sputnik V" vaccine is injected in two stages. The interval between the injection of the first and second components of the vaccine is 21 days.

It is planned that the second batch of the "Sputnik V" vaccine will arrive in the city next week.
