Rustam Minnikhanov awarded doctors and employees of Rospotrebnadzor for the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic

Today, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov granted state awards to medical workers of Tatarstan and employees of Rospotrebnadzor who distinguished themselves in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The ceremony was held in the Kazan Kremlin.

"The pandemic has become a serious challenge for all of us, and even more for the health care system. Medical workers without sleep and rest selflessly fought against the new world threat. Every citizen of the Republic is sincerely proud and admires your professional feat, "Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Addressing the doctors, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan noted that many of them lived for weeks in separation from their relatives and friends, literally fighting for the lives of people in the red zones at the limit of human capabilities and strength. Employees of ambulance crews, air ambulance, general practitioners, medical specialists, paramedics and nurses, junior medical personnel, technicians and drivers - all of them have made an invaluable contribution to the fight against coronavirus, Rustam Minnikhanov stressed. "We will always remember those who gave their lives for the sake of others," he said.

Separately, the President noted the employees of Rospotrebnadzor. "Most of the employees of this department are women. On your fragile shoulders lies a great responsibility – the protection and well-being of the people of our republic. You continue to stand at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19," he said.

"I want to sincerely thank you! I wish you strength and patience. You are our support! "- added Rustam Minnikhanov.

Then the President of Tatarstan presented state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan. A total of 49 people were awarded.
