New park will be built on the Chaikov Lakes near the City hospital #7
In the Novo-Savinovsky district of Kazan, it is planned to reconstruct the Chaikov Lakes located near the City hospital #7. There will be zones of rehabilitation, general physical activity, art therapy, aeroionotherapy, herbal medicine and much more. The future park will become a place for rehabilitation of hospital patients and recreation of residents of nearby houses. The reconstruction will begin this year. According to the doctors, there were no such large-scale projects in the country. The project of reconstruction of lakes was presented to the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
The total land area of the Chaikov Lakes is 9.5 hectares. According to the project, the reconstruction of the territory will be held in two stages. At the first stage of the work, the Maloe Chaikov Lake with an area of 2.6 hectares will be reconstructed. According to architect Vitaly Volkov, this territory will be a unique complex for the rehabilitation of patients of City hospital #7. "This is a completely new approach to the improvement of parklands near hospitals, where great attention is paid to both the rehabilitation of patients and doctors who need psychoemotional relief," Vitaly Volkov told the Mayor of Kazan.
A large team of architects, doctors, environmentalists and residents of nearby houses worked on the project of the future park. Each territory of the public space is divided into thematic zones that are responsible for curative effect. Elmira Khusainova, Head of the Department of Early Neurorehabilitation at Kazan City Clinical Hospital #7, noted that rehabilitation of patients is an integral part of undergoing full-fledged treatment. "In any treatment, the early start of rehabilitation measures is crucial. An individual rehabilitation program will be developed for each patient, all procedures will be provided under the strict guidance of doctors," Elmira Khusainova said.
In the new park, reflexology will be practiced, where everyone will be able to enjoy the picturesque landscapes of the lake on the benches, sand treatment, social therapy will include various activities, in the aromatherapy zone, rehabilitation with medicinal restorative herbs will be provided, in the art therapy zone, drawing lessons will be held. Here, aeroionotherapy – treatment with ionized air is also organized for patients. In addition, sports grounds, rehabilitation and sports equipment will be installed in the park, a terrenkur area will be organized (a method of spa treatment that provides graduated physical activity in the form of walking, climbing in mountainous areas along certain routes). In addition, patients will be able to independently grow and take care of plants that will be planted in the garden.
Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan - head of the Health Directorate of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan of Kazan Vladimir Zhavoronkov said that analogues of the project are not in any city in the country. According to him, the uniqueness of the future park lies in its versatility – all conditions will be created here for the rehabilitation of patients and the recreation of doctors. "This project is a breakthrough for us. I have never seen such a comprehensive approach. We talk a lot about patient orientation, and this is where this concept is implemented. It is important that special zones for doctors will be created here, they will prevent emotional burnout, because without a satisfied employee, you will never get a 100% result," said Vladimir Zhavoronkov.
"The first step in creating a recreational zone of the park will be the Chaikov Lakes, and then there will be an embankment on the Gavrilov street ".
In addition, as part of the reconstruction of the lake, artificial aeration of the water reservoir is also planned. "We work closely with environmentalists. The lake has problems with silting, which disrupts the ecosystem. To solve this problem, we plan to install a fountain on the lake," explained Vitaly Volkov.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted that the City hospital #7 has always been distinguished by the quality of medical services. "City Hospital #7 is one of the best both in terms of equipment and professionalism of doctors. A special gratitude to medical personnel for the treatment of patients with covid-19. We see a lot of positive feedback from the people you treated. And this project, in particular, is our gratitude", Ilsur Metshin said.
The second stage of the reconstruction will be the territory of the Bolshoe Chaikov Lake; its area is 6.8 hectares. There will be a walking area with wooden walking paths, comfortable benches and an observation deck. Both patients of the hospital and residents of the district will be able to walk around the territory. According to the architect, the public space will become not only a favorite place of recreation for citizens, but also a transit zone. "There are dense buildings in that district, residents need to bypass a large area, the park will allow you to shorten the way," Vitaly Volkov explained.
Ilsur Metshin stressed that the new park will be the first stage in the creation of recreational areas in that district. "Unfortunately, in the 90s, the residents of the district were deprived of park areas, there was a dense development. The first stage of the creation of walking areas will be the park of Chaikov Lakes, and then there will be an embankment on the Gavrilova Street. We will start building in stages," Ilsur Metshin concluded.
