3 February 2021, Wednesday

From May 25 to August 30, 2020, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the regional public organization "Council of Children's Organizations of the Republic of Tatarstan," held the Republican "Reading to Сhildren Together" action. This campaign aimed to organize joint leisure activities for families with children, developing the tradition of family reading, increasing the role of books in the formation of a successful, socially active child's personality, his intellectual potential, and popularizing reading among children and adolescents.

Following the campaign results, the Organizing Committee members identified the active participants of the campaign and announced the authors of the most exciting works.

Deputy chief doctor for the Pediatric department of Chistopol Central Regional Hospital Natalia Tolkina and the Maternity Hospital's ward nurse Olga Marfina took part in the Republican campaign. They prepared an interesting video in which a young mother of two wonderful twins Irina Yastrebova read a passage from a poem by K. I. Chukovsky's "Dr. Powderpill" for their babies.

The prepared video was published in the official Instagram account of the Maternity Hospital of Chistopol CRH under the hashtag #читаемдетямрт.

"We thank the Organizing Committee for the high assessment of our author's work. We also express our gratitude to our young mother for her beautiful voice in reading the poem's lines written by everyone's favorite children's author Korney Chukovsky.

The vibration of the mother's voice synchronizes the work of the brain's parts responsible for hearing and vision, memory, and attention. We recommend all expectant mothers read fairy tales, lullabies, nursery rhymes to their babies before and after birth. This is important for the formation of a successful, socially active personality of the child, his intellectual potential," said Natalia Yurievna.
