58 transplants and 13 thousand patients of the TIDH: the RCH summed up the results of 2020
On February 17, the Republican Clinical Hospital held a Hospital Council, which summed up the results of work for 2020 and outlined the tasks for doctors for the new year of 2021.
About the work of the temporary infectious diseases hospital
More than 13 thousand patients with a new coronavirus infection and ARVI passed through the Temporary Infections Diseases Hospital of RCH. The oldest one who was cured of COVID was 102 years old patient. 2,000 patients of the hospital were over 80 years old.
Coronavirus infection has not spared pregnant women, and during the last year, the specialists of the clinic treated 495 pregnant women and women in labor.
More than 15 thousand patients passed through the buffer zone of the main Admissions Department of the RCH. All incoming patients, even emergency patients in serious conditions, were provided with all the necessary assistance in the Admissions Diagnostic Department's conditions. Severe patients were placed in the buffer intensive care unit. Up to 50 CT scans were performed per day in the Emergency Department.
If COVID-19 was confirmed in an admitted patient, they were transferred to a Temporary Infectious Diseases Hospital.
"In 2020, a positive result of the COVID-19 test was found in 413 patients in the buffer zone. If there were no buffer zone, we would have received 413 potential foci of nosocomial infection," said Raphael Shavaliev, chief physician of the RCH.
About the anti-COVID plasma usage
The RCH team, led by Diana Ildarovna Abdulganieva, the head of the Therapy Clinic, and Raushania Mansurovna Khairullina, the Blood Transfusion Department head, were the second in Russia to start transfusing anti-COVID plasma to patients. Specialists prepared 353 doses of plasma, of which 295 were transfused to patients with COVID in the RCH.
About transplantations in the context of a pandemic
In 2020, the RCH transplant teams successfully performed 40 kidney and 18 liver transplantations.
"At the same time, since the beginning of 2021, we have had 11 kidney and 6 liver transplantations," Raphael Shavaliev stressed.
A few facts
• During the year, the RCH performed about 30 thousand lung CT scans, of which 28 thousand were treated with artificial tissue.
• During the year, the RCH medical air service team performed 193 flights, evacuating 184 patients; this is a record for the clinic.
* In the Perinatal Center in 2020, doctors delivered 6,300 babies.
At the final Board meeting on January 25, priority tasks for healthcare were announced:
1. Taking control of COVID-19
2. Formation of collective immunity
3. Effective implementation of regional projects of the Priority National Healthcare project
4. Reducing the mortality rate of the population
5. Innovative approaches in the organization of medical care
6. Implementation of effective management solutions in preventive areas
7. Consistent and systematic personnel policy and elimination of personnel shortage in the industry
8. Implementation of the Air Ambulance Development Strategy
9. Introduction of the national system of voluntary "Quality and Safety of Medical Activity" certification of Roszdravnadzor.
The Republican Clinical Hospital aims to fulfill all the stated tasks.
