Last year, residents of 111 countries invested almost 77 million rubles in medical tourism in Tatarstan

In 2020, medical services were provided to 33,149 foreign citizens in the amount of $1.3 million, or 76.9 million rubles. 911 people were treated in inpatient conditions, and 32,238 received treatment in outpatient clinics. They represented 111 countries.

For example, in 2019, 14.5 thousand people received medical services. They invested an amount almost twice less than last year, which equals to 46.7 million rubles.

Over the past year, citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkey were most often medical tourists. The most popular were dermatovenerology, infectious diseases, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, phthisiology, and therapy.

In 2021, 63 medical organizations located on the Republic of Tatarstan's territory will participate in the project, 55 of which are state-owned and eight are private.

As of February 15 of this year, 2,212 foreigners have already become medical tourists. They have paid for treatment in the amount of 9.1 million rubles.

The Republican project "Export of Medical Services of Tatarstan" is implemented under the National Healthcare project.
