Doctor Hussein Khusameldin Sulaiman has been working at the polyclinic #7 of Naberezhnye Chelny since October 2020.
He talks about his family with special trepidation. My father and mother have seven children: 6 brothers and 1 sister, all of them are practicing doctors. He and his three brothers graduated from the Perm Medical University (then it was the Academy). The younger ones graduated in medicine in the Republic of Sudan.
After graduating from the Academy in 2003, Hussein Sulaiman completed his residency in thoracic surgery. In 2009, he defended his dissertation on suppurative lung diseases and became a candidate of medical sciences. Author of a unique method of right-sided pulmonectomy surgery.
After defending his PhD thesis, he returned to his homeland. He worked as a thoracic surgeon in Sudan for 10 years.
Every year he visited Russia, his home city of Perm and Izhevsk. During the trips, he got acquainted with the Republic of Tatarstan and Naberezhnye Chelny, where his friend lives with his family.
- On March 15, 2020, I visited the Congress of Surgeons in Russia, and on March 16, the border was already closed due to COVID-19 pandemic, - says the doctor. - So I stayed here for a while, and eventually decided to settle in Tatarstan. Over time, he moved his family to Russia: his wife and little daughter. But while they are in Perm, we need to resolve some issues related to the move. I want to be together with them as soon as possible.
- I also drew attention to the success of Russia in the fight against the pandemic in comparison with other world capitals. Because I saw the beginning of the pandemic in Sudan, Jordan, and other countries. In addition, I constantly read authoritative sources in Russian, English, and Arabic languages. These are the reports of the World Health Organization, and the Association of Pulmonologists, Virologists of different countries. I am a member of several associations. I have been dealing with suppurative lung diseases for more than 17 years. Author of more than 30 scientific publications. And I can say with confidence that vaccination is the most effective way to protect yourself.
During the pandemic, there was a shortage of medical personnel in polyclinics, because many doctors went to work in infectious diseases hospitals. Doctors and nurses consciously chose to work in difficult conditions. Hussein Khusameldin received a certificate in general surgery and got a job in the polyclinic #7. The doctor immediately noted that in such a difficult time, a team of professionals, led by their supervisor, stand guard over the most valuable thing in a person's life – the health. This influenced the decision to apply for a job in a polyclinic.
- I have more than 400 visits per month and surgical operations separately. Patients come in different ways. It would seem that contact is inevitable. But, thanks to the observance of preventive measures, the analysis for antibodies to the coronavirus showed: there are no antibodies.
The first batch of COVID-19 vaccine for the city was delivered to the polyclinic #7. In December, the doctor received the first component. No adverse reactions are noted. In January, he underwent a revaccination. Now it has already been 2 months, that is, a full-fledged immunity has been formed. Now the antibodies are enough to keep you from the coronavirus.
- The decision to get vaccinated was influenced, first, by the scientific approach: the vaccine is the only way to protect yourself from the coronavirus. Second, an antibody test: there are no antibodies, so you need to be vaccinated. Third, conscience. As a doctor, I could not allow other people to get infected because of me if I became a carrier of the virus. Now all my relatives, friends, and colleagues in different parts of the world have followed my example. Last week, the first component of the vaccine was received by my parents, who live in Saudi Arabia, they are 70 years old.
