KSMU students won prizes in the project of the presidential platform "Russia – the Land of Opportunities»
"I am a professional" is one of the flagship projects of the presidential platform "Russia – the Land of Opportunities". The Olympiad is supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. On May 25, the results of the "I am a professional" Olympiad were summed up. More than 3,800 students from 348 universities from 70 Russian regions became the winners of the competition: 142 gold, 186 silver and 232 bronze medalists, 1,205 winners and 2,116 prize-winners.
Kazan State Medical University according to the results of participation in the Fourth Professional Olympiad of students "I am a professional" in the number of winners and prize-winners for the fourth time took the 2nd place in the group of medical specialties and universities and the 1st place in dentistry, 36-38 place among all universities in Russia. Taking into account the fact that places are distributed by the number of medals and without counting the total number of students – this is an impressive result for the Republic of Tatarstan in the number of Olympic medalists with 10 medals on the 7th place in the country.

132 students of Kazan State Medical University, including 3 medalists, took part in the final stage of the students ' Olympiad "I am a professional".
In the direction of" Dentistry", a student of Sibgatullina Lyaysan Finatovna received a gold medal (there were 6 diploma holders in total). In the section of "Medical care and Pediatrics", the bronze medal was awarded to the student Osipov Mikhail Ivanovich (there were 15 diploma holders in total). In the section of "Social work", the bronze medal was awarded to the student Gimadieva Regina Rinatovna. In the section of "Pharmacy" there was 1 diploma holder.
Sibgatullina Laysan, a 5th-year student of the Faculty of Dentistry of Kazan State Medical University, this year became a gold medalist of the Olympiad in the field of "Dentistry". Last year, she also participated in the competition, but failed to take the prize. This experience motivated Laysan to thoroughly prepare and try her hand at the Olympics again. After receiving the diploma, the medalist is determined to continue her studies in the residency, prizes in this Olympiad give bonuses for admission to the residency. Also, the winners of the Olympiad are given the opportunity to participate in internships of the best companies in Russia, the student hopes that this will be a good help in her future career.
Mikhail Osipov, a 6th-year student of the specialization in Medicine in Kazan State Medical University, successfully participates in various Olympiads during his training. This time, he became a bronze medalist in the specialized field of "Medicine and Pediatrics". According to him, the experience of working and fighting a new coronavirus infection in the walls of the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital named after Professor A. F. Agafonov motivated him to get a prize in the "I am a professional" Olympiad in his profile. Thanks to his achievements in the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic years, Mikhail became a scholarship holder of the Government of the Russian Federation. After receiving the diploma, the medalist is set to continue his training in residency. In parallel with his studies, Mikhail plans to continue working and apply his knowledge as a doctor. Mikhail Osipov expresses his gratitude to the faculty of the alma mater of the Kazan State Medical University for their invaluable contribution to the development and development of the University as a healthcare specialist.
A student of the Faculty of Social Work, Regina Rinatovna Gimadieva, became a bronze medalist in the fourth season of the All – Russian Olympiad of Students "I am a professional" in the 2020-2021 academic year in the category "Bachelor" in the direction of "Social Work". Theoretical knowledge, accumulated practical experience, mentoring of teachers of the Department of Economic Theory and Social Work allowed achieving this result. According to the student, she plans to continue her master's degree in the direction of "Social Work" and to carry out work activities in the specialty. She believes that every student who wants to expand their horizons, test their knowledge and get a new interesting experience should take part in the Olympiad.
For the Olympic medalists, there are cash prizes in the amount of 100 to 300 thousand rubles. In 2021, diploma holders in the medical fields of the Olympiad will get internships in major clinical and research centers, additional preferences are provided for them when entering the residency, master's and postgraduate programs in the leading educational organizations of higher and postgraduate education in the country, and they are also included in the closed national database "Young Professionals", which will be available to recruiters of the largest Russian medical and research centers and companies.
In total, 576,012 students from Russia and foreign countries took part in the Olympiad "I am a professional" in various specialties: humanities, natural science and technical.
