Psychiatrist of V.M. Bekhterev RCPH of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan Olga Bashmakova told about the causes of occurrence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PRSD)

Some specialties call post-traumatic stress disorder as a “Plague of XXI century” taking into consideration its currency and long period of progress, not allowing timely controlling and preventing the coming consequences.

According to the Head of the Outpatient Department, psychiatrist, psychotherapist of RCPH Olga Bashmakova, post-traumatic stress disorder (PRSD) is a is a borderline mental disorder that occurs in clear connection with a traumatic situation that threatens human life and health. Psychotrauma should be intense and short-acting, that is, a person should experience severe stress in a short period of time.
