Cardiovascular system is one of the most vital systems of the human body, ensuring constant blood flow, delivery of oxygen and nutrients to organs and tissues. The effects of addictive substances on the system can cause serious health problems and lead to heart disease.

                Psychoactive drugs can cause:

  • elevated heart rate or tachycardia;
  • vessel constriction;
  • cardiomyopathy;
  • inflammation of the endocardium

In general, psychoactive drugs have a devastating effect on the cardiovascular system.
