Main routes of infection and impact on it

18 March 2024, Monday

Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation announced a Week of prevention of infectious diseases from March 18 to 24 (dedicated to World Tuberculosis Day).

Infectious diseases occur in the presence of pathogenic microorganisms and are transmitted from an infected person to a healthy one.

Main routes of infection and impact on it:

● Droplet and airborne transmission (for example: flu, cold, chickenpox, whooping cough, tuberculosis, diphtheria, measles, rubella etc.) Masks, ventilation, and avoiding accumulation of a large number of people in the room are used for prevention.

● alimental (nutritive) transmission (such as: all intestinal infections, salmonellosis, dysentery, viral Hepatitis A). Key role play hygiene of hands and goods, absence of flies in the room.

● Sexual transmission (for example: viral Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV infection). An important aspect of the prevention of such infections is the use of contraceptives.

● Blood transmission (more frequent: viral Hepatitis B, HIV infection). In this case, sterile surgical instruments and the rejection of tattoos (especially at home) will help prevent infectious diseases.

Preventive measures are individual: vaccination, hygiene, cold-exposure training and healthy lifestyle.

Be attentive to health and take care of yourself!
