ARVI and flu are diseases that almost everyone faces. There are a lot of misconceptions about the treatment.
1st myth: Any infectious disease can be cured with antibiotics.
The reality: A cold can be caused by virus. Viruses are not susceptible to antibiotics, and in this case, the use of antibiotics will only worsen the patient's condition, weakening his resistance to infections and negatively affecting beneficial bacteria in the body.
2nd myth: If there is no fever, the person is not contagious.
The reality: In fact, ARVI, including the flu, can occur in adults without fever. The temperature rises more often in children and in people with weakened immune systems. Therefore, so-called “cold” may well turn out to be a viral disease, and in this case he will also become a distributor of infection.
3rd myth: Garlic protects against infections.
The reality: Garlic has a phytoncidal effect and can reduce the content of bacteria in the air. But there is no evidence that it protects against infections.
