Today, on June 26, the international community traditionally celebrates the International Day Against Drug Addiction and Illicit Drug Trafficking.
Tatar-inform News Agency hosted a press conference with specialists from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan.
According to Rezeda Khayeva, the chief visiting narcologist at the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan, Deputy Chief Physician of the Republican Clinical Narcological Dispensary of the Republic of Tatarstan, the number of identified drug addicts in Tatarstan has decreased by 8.3% this year.
"All conditions have been created in the Republic of Tatarstan for the prevention, early detection and rehabilitation of patients with drug-related diseases. Thus, in 2024, 17,140 medical narcological examinations were conducted, and in 2025 — already 3,648," the narcologist noted.
