23 October 2025, Thursday

At the weekly meeting, Lyubov Kasatkina, a pediatrician at the Yelabuga Central Hospital, introduced colleagues to updated clinical recommendations for anaphylactic shock care.  But what is anaphylactic shock and why is it so important to be prepared for it?

Anaphylactic shock is the most severe and life–threatening allergic reaction that can develop rapidly in response to exposure to an allergen (food, medications, insect bites, etc.). It is manifested by a sharp drop in blood pressure, difficulty breathing, swelling, loss of consciousness.  The minutes count.

Therefore, it is so important for doctors to know modern care protocols, be able to quickly assess the patient's condition and act clearly and coherently.  Efficiency and knowledge are what saves lives.
