Elena Tukhvatullina, Head of the Department of Medical Prevention, prepared a material within the framework of the All-Russian Stroke Week from October 27 to November 2 (in honor of World Stroke Day on October 29).
The danger of stroke lies in the sudden onset and rapid development of symptoms. A person may not even understand what is happening to him and begins to look for remedies for headaches or wants to lie down, sleep, and procrastination in this case is fraught with irreversible processes. It should take no more than 3-4 hours from the appearance of the first symptoms to professional medical care.
The main symptoms that indicate a vascular catastrophe:
Sudden headache for no apparent reason;
Severe dizziness, loss of orientation in space, impaired coordination and gait;
Numbness of the face and the appearance of its asymmetry. If you ask a person to smile, then the smile will be crooked, because half of the face stops obeying, as a result, one of the corners of the mouth will be turned down.;
Speech becomes slurred, incoherent, the tongue does not obey and it seems very big.;
Numbness of the arm and leg. One specific side of the body is often affected;
Sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes, a feeling of double vision.
If even one of the listed signs appears, in no case should you delay. We urgently need to call an ambulance!
