Victoria Valeryevna Biktimerova, a neurologist at polyclinic No. 1 of the Almetyevsk , always tells patients about stroke prevention.

The main causes of stroke are age, heredity, arrhythmia, narrowing of the carotid arteries, atherosclerosis, and hypertension.

Regular medical examinations are recommended for people at risk, including vascular ultrasound, ECG, blood tests, tomography, duplex examination, neuromyography and Holter monitoring.

Primary prevention of stroke includes weight loss, quitting smoking, regular physical activity, proper nutrition and control of blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels in the blood.

To prevent stroke, it is recommended to have at least 30 minutes of physical activity 5 times a week (running, swimming, dancing). Dancing improves blood circulation in the brain. Exercises in water and compression knitwear are useful for varicose veins. Strengthening the neck muscles is also important.

Proper treatment and compliance with the recommendations of a specialist reduce the likelihood of negative consequences.
