Healthy habits — protection from infections

25 March 2026, Wednesday

The Infectious Disease Prevention Week is taking place from March 23 to March 29. This is an important reason to remind parents that a child's health largely depends on simple but regular actions that are formed from an early age.

The immune system in children is still in its developmental stage, so they are more susceptible to various infections. Acute respiratory viral infections, influenza, intestinal infections, rotavirus and other diseases are most common in childhood, especially during periods of seasonal increase in morbidity.

The basis of prevention remains the observance of personal hygiene rules. Regular hand washing with ice, especially after going outside and before eating, significantly reduces the risk of injury. It is also important to teach your child oral care and explain the importance of these habits for health.

Adequate sleep, physical activity, and a balanced diet are equally important. During sleep, the body recovers and produces immune cells, and a varied diet rich in vitamins and trace elements helps strengthen the body's defenses. The inclusion of foods containing beneficial bacteria in the diet also contributes to maintaining health.
