Tatarstan doctors shared their memories of Renat Suleymanovich Akchurin

On April 2, the legendary doctor Renat Suleymanovich Akchurin, who made a huge contribution to the development of the cardiac surgery service of our republic, would have turned 80.

Tatarstan doctors, who continue his work today, told TASS about their mentor.  

Aynagul Bayalieva, Deputy Chief Physician of the Republican Clinical Hospital:He introduced one of the first operations without artificial circulation, coronary bypass surgery on a beating heart. This requires the highest skill from the surgeon."  

Rashid Sadykov, a cardiovascular surgeon at the Emergency Medical Hospital named after  Akchurin of Naberezhnye Chelny: "There have been protracted operations.We young people got tired, and sometimes we sat down to rest. I remember once, when we had been standing for five or six hours, Renat Suleymanovich noticed my condition and said, "Send him to sleep, he's off duty." He was involved with everyone who was in the operating room."
