Press-tour dedicated to International Migrants Day

Press-tour dedicated to International Migrants Day has taken place in the center of physical examination of foreign citizens.

 International Migrants Day is spent all over the world on December, 18th. This day, in 1990, the General Assembly of United Nations Organization has accepted the International convention on protection of the rights of all workers-migrants and members of their families.
Intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations must disseminate the information on human rights and the basic freedom of migrants, measures on guarantees of their protection.
According to the estimations, each thirty fifth inhabitant of planet is the migrant living and working outside of his country. Tatarstan Republic, as well as Russia, has faced the growth of number of migrants. Annually 125-135 thousand foreign citizens arrive to the republic.
Every fourth of number of migrants has authorization on work activity. Work migration plays positive role in the problem resolution of deficit of economically active population of republic, but at the same time causes the problems connected with medical and social assistance of migrants.
Special project on preventive maintenance of social-negative phenomena, the access extension to medical-social services of working migrants has been implemented in Tatarstan Republic in 2007.

The migrants arriving to capital of republic must be examined on such illnesses as HIV infection, syphilis, tuberculosis.

In 2013 the Centre of medical examinations has examined more than 11 thousand migrants. Earlier this procedure took some days, but now it takes only two hours.
