Pre-natal heart operation of fetus has been made for the first time in Russia in Republican Clinical Hospital of HM of ТR

Pre-natal heart operation of fetus - balloon dilatation of critical stenosis of aortal valve has been made on 27-28 weeks of pregnancy for the first time in Russia in Perinatal Centre of  Republican Clinical Hospital of HM of ТR. The critical stenosis of aortal valve, decrease of contractility of myocardium of left ventricle has been diagnosed in fetus. In operational room of observation unit under US monitoring through the front abdominal wall and uterus wall of the pregnant woman the puncture of apex of left ventricle of fetus heart has been made. After control colour doppler mapping through the aortal valve the adequate flow of blood began to be determined, the left ventricle began to contract. This operation is the only possibility to prevent irreversible changes of myocardium at critical stenosis of the aortal valve till the period of viability of fetus.
