A "Week aimed at reducing mortality from external causes" is taking place from June 29 to July 5. We ask parents and all adults who are with children to pay special attention to the protection of windows and balconies. In summer, windows are more often open, children spend more time at home, and the risk of tragedy increases precisely because of the usual everyday situations.
Install security locks on windows (key locks). This is a reliable mechanical method that really restricts the child's window opening and does not depend on the "attentiveness of adults." Ventilate when the child is not in the room. If possible, use air conditioning, supply valves, or ventilation in the absence of children. If the window is still open, it is better to choose a mode in which the child will not be able to approach the opening. Remove the furniture from the window. A sofa, chair, bedside table, pouf or even boxes at the windowsill can easily turn into a "step". Children learn to climb quickly and can use any object as a support.
Take care of the children: safety begins with the habits of adults.
