Seminar dedicated to the International Hepatitis Day
Employees of the Zainsk CDH took part in a seminar on the prevention of hepatitis and summer infections.
The day before, the medical staff of the prevention office of the district hospital took part in a methodical online seminar on topical issues of infection safety.
As part of the Liver Disease Prevention Week, timed to coincide with the International Hepatitis Day (July 28), the infectious diseases specialist of the RCIH, presented a report on viral hepatitis.
The audience was reminded that about 354 million people live with chronic hepatitis B or C in the world, and 1.3 million die from these diseases every year.
Special emphasis is placed on the role of primary care physicians: they are the first to suspect the disease based on non—specific symptoms - weakness, dyspepsia, heaviness in the right hypochondrium — and refer the patient for examination. Hepatitis B vaccination remains a priority: it is effective in more than 95% of cases and is included in the national vaccination calendar.
