Traumatologist from Zelenodolsk urges to observe safety rules during the summer period
In the summer, cases of minors going to the trauma department with injuries sustained from falls from scooters, bicycles and personal mobility aids have become more frequent. The main reason is riding without protective gear and exceeding the speed limit.
According to the observations of Ilya Denisovich Semenov, an orthopedic traumatologist at Zelenodolsk CDH, more than 70% of such injuries could have been prevented by using a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads.
The specialist notes: "Fractures, concussions, dislocations are the price for a minute of inattention. Asphalt does not forgive mistakes, and protective accessories significantly reduce the severity of the consequences. Parents should realize that monitoring a child's equipment is just as important as seat belts in a car."
