World AIDS Day is celebrated on December, 1st. This year it will be held under the slogan "Know your status".
This day government and public figures, sports and show business stars draw the attention of the population, and especially young people, to the problem of HIV/AIDS, call for compliance with prevention measures and regular HIV testing.
Significant progress has been made in the AIDS response since 1988. Three quarters of people living with HIV know their status. However, we still have a long way to go — to identify people living with HIV who are unaware of their status and to ensure that they have access to quality health care and prevention.
