Svetlana Safiullina, hematologist, assistant of the general medicine sub-faculty of KSMU, member of the national association for thrombosis and hemostasis, PhD Medicine, Kazan, shared her experience and practical recommendations with the physicians of SAHI "Children’s Municipal Hospital with Perinatal Center" of Nizhnekamsk.

Blood is one of the most important tissues of the body, requiring a protective system that prevents its loss in case of damage to blood vessels and working in conditions of high speeds and pressures. So, the hemostasis system is a protective system. It maintains normal blood flow in physiological conditions and stops bleeding at the site of injury. Disorders of its balance occur in a variety of situations, such as trauma and blood loss, infection, cancer and cardiovascular diseases, surgery and pregnancy, and lead to hemorrhages or, conversely, to thrombosis. Thrombosis is the main cause of death in developed countries.
