The history of treatment of diabetes has begun in 1922 when the young scientist from Canada Frederik has created an insulin injection, for the first time having made it to 14-year-old boy whose life was saved as a result. Banting has nobly transferred the rights on the invention to the University of Toronto. For the first time insulin has appeared on sale in 1922. It is possible to name this event as the beginning of the World Day of Struggle Against Diabetes. In 2007 the United Nations Organization has decided to celebrate the World Day of Struggle Against Diabetes officially. As the outstanding founder of insulin was born on November, 14th, just this date was chosen for celebrating of this Day.
