We continue to talk about our heroic grandfathers and great-grandfathers on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. They went through this long and terrible war in the name of future generations.
Yana Chupakhina, public relations specialist at Children's Municipal Hospital with a Perinatal Center, tells about her grandfather:
“My grandfather Prokofy G. Kuzmin was born on 08.25.1918 in the village of Kashaevo, Sheremetyevo district of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. When the war began, he ended his military service. But it turned out to be able to return home only after a long 5 years. In 1939, he was called up for service in the Red Army by the Sheremetyevo District Military Commissariat of the Kazan Region. Together with his comrades, he walked from Kamskiye Polyany to Berlin. He fought on the Western, Bryansk, Ukrainian fronts. Recently, we found documents that indicated why he received his main awards”.
