A 77-year-old patient was operated on in Naberezhnye Chelny Emergency hospital with endofixation of a stent graft. This type of operation was performed for an emergency patient in Tatarstan using a modern system for the first time.

On July 18, a resident of Agryz was urgently admitted to the Emergency hospital of Naberezhnye Chelny. An aneurism rupture is detected after the examination. In addition, the patient has concomitant serious diseases, in which open surgery is highly undesirable.

The graft is placed if there is a fixing zone of more than 15 mm. And in this case, the fixation zone was only 3-4 mm. If it were installed, it would simply slide out of its place and the bleeding would resume.

After a consultation, x-ray endovascular surgeon Marat Sharafutdinov and cardiovascular surgeon Rashid Sadykov decided to install a stent graft, and to prevent it from sliding off the spot, apply a super-modern system-endofixation of the stent graft. This system is very similar to a screw driver: with the help of a special catheter that can change the curvature in the desired direction, with details similar to spirals that act as screws, the stent graft was successfully fixed to the aortic wall.

Now the patient feels well, he is in the ward and is preparing for discharge.
