A resident of one of the districts of Tatarstan suffered from non-specific ulcerative colitis-a chronic inflammatory disease of the colon.
The woman was already suffering from pain and bleeding when she sought help from doctors.
Doctors had to remove the entire colon, which was like a sieve due to numerous ulcers, and bring the stoma out.
The woman had a colostomy bag for two years. After she was operated on again in Moscow , the stoma was removed and a reservoir was formed from the small intestine. This was in 2012, when such operations were not performed in Kazan.
A resident of Tatarstan was hospitalized again in 2019 with acute inflammation and obstruction. The woman was urgently transported to the Republic Clinical Hospital by a Sanaviation helicopter.
According to doctors, the condition was critical. The inflammation started already in the small intestine, everything was in ulcers. With such pathologies, patients die in 90% of cases.
Within a month, RCH doctors operated on the woman several times, struggling with intestinal perforation.
In the end, the doctors managed to stop the inflammation. Doctors had to remove more than half of the small intestine, re-forming the reservoir for the digestive system.
A resident of Tatarstan had a total of 12 operations, lost a lot of weight, but still won the disease.
