In Nizhnekamsk Central Municipal Multifuctional Hospital told about vaccinations

27 August 2020, Thursday

Elena Piskareva, the Deputy chief physician for epidemiological issues of Nizhnekamsk CMMH, told reporters about the details of the vaccination campaign. The campaign started in Nizhnekamsk immediately after the first batch of flu vaccine was received.

Who needs a flu shot?

"As everywhere, vaccination is free and takes place within the framework of the National calendar of preventive vaccinations. Now you can get a flu shot in a polyclinic at your place of residence. First of all, patients belonging to the risk group are subject to vaccination: older people, people with chronic diseases, residents of Nizhnekamsk who work in children's organized groups, and medical workers. Before getting vaccinated, one needs to go to a therapist, who will examine the patient without waiting in line and give a referral to the vaccination office. We plan to complete the first stage of vaccination within three weeks. Then everything will depend on the supply of the vaccine to the medical institutions of the city. In the next few days, we will receive a children's vaccine. Children are vaccinated from the age of 6 months. We also expect to receive a vaccine for pregnant women in the next few days."

What vaccine is given to patients?

"At the moment, two types of vaccines have been received: "Savegrp" and "t-M." These are domestic three-component drugs. They include virus strains, such as: A/H1N1, A/H3N2, and B. Both vaccines are similar, both tested, and the result is remarkable. Vaccines are produced according to WHO recommendations and as the result of the monitoring of transmitted diseases throughout the year among the population."

Can I get a flu shot for people who have had COVID-19?

"You need to get vaccinated. People who have undergone COVID-19 are weakened and can easily become infected if they come into contact with a flu patient. In the case of illness, the course of the disease will be severe. All people who have had COVID-19 should be vaccinated against the flu after a full recovery. In total, it should take 2-4 weeks."

How many people do you plan to vaccinate this year?

"According to the plan, 165,796 people should be vaccinated. This includes 122,836 adults and 42,960 children. In order to form an immune layer, 60% of the population must be vaccinated, including at least 75% of people at risk."
