Olga Khrustaleva, a gynecologist at the Gynecological Department #2 of the Nizhnekamsk Central district Multi-specialty Hospital, shared with us her impressions of working at the COVID hospital.

"I think, like everyone else, it was not easy for me at first. Finally grasped the situation after the first two shifts. And what a great team we had! Full mutual understanding helped in our work a great deal.

We were also significantly supported by experienced colleagues-pulmonologists working here since the hospital's opening. They were in touch with us every day and helped in difficult situations. My older co-mentors have always taught me to treat patients like relatives. Only then will the person feel confident in the doctor. I applied this knowledge to the hospital, as well. We gave our best. And, above all, we fought the fear in the eyes of our patients. Our support for them was sometimes more necessary than any medicine. I will not hide that during the two-week shift, I missed my native Gynecological Department. I've already returned to my colleagues, and they admitted that they missed me too.

Working in a hospital is a great experience. If necessary, I will not refuse and take another shift. It is not only a test of your strength, but also an opportunity to get to know your colleagues from other departments better.

Thank you to my family for their support. I wish you good health to all residents of Niznekamsk. Take care of yourself and your loved ones."
