"I want to appeal to Nizhnekamsk residents… Take care of yourself!"

21 October 2020, Wednesday

The orderly of the Department of X-ray Surgical Methods of Diagnosis and Treatment of Nizhnekamsk Central District Multifunctional Hospital Irina Lukoyanova had worked in the hospital for the second shift. During this time, Irina Anatolyevna realized the main thing: patients are waiting for support, and it doesn't matter who comes to their room: a doctor, a nurse or an orderly.

"We always set ourselves up for a positive mood before the shift, because patients see the mood we come to them with. And we must first of all support them. It is very difficult for them, and if we stop supporting them, it will become even harder for them.

I work in the intensive care unit, the patients are here with serious health conditions, and they are on ventilators. They need constant care. We help nurses because they have a very heavy burden on their shoulders. In our tasks, in particular, is: carry-bring tests, prepare beds for incoming patients, and provide maximum assistance to nurses in patient care.

In General, patients are very emotionally unstable, scared, some may be rude to us, but we patiently listen to everyone, try to help everyone, support, and calm them down. And they can hear us," says Irina Lukoyanova.

After a two-week shift in the hospital, Irina Anatolyevna will go home, where her beloved husband, three sons and a daughter, and a cat Phoenix are waiting for her. Irina Anatolyevna recalls how once she met her sons from the army, set the table, worried.

"It's like I'm coming back from the army… My children promised to set the table for me. Take care of yourself, wear masks, take care of your parents, so that we have fewer serious patients, and we finally forgot about this terrible disease!"
