Events on stroke prevention organized in Kazan

27 October 2020, Tuesday

The Republican Сenter for Medical Prevention and the regional branch of the all-Russia "Medical Volunteers" public movement organized and conducted an educational quest game on stroke prevention for Kazan residents and guests. This event was timed with the upcoming Worldwide Stroke Prevention Day on October, 29.

The campaign was held on October, 24 in two shopping centers of Kazan,  the Ring shopping center and the Mega shopping center.

The volunteers shared their knowledge about global trends in the incidence of cardiovascular diseases, the first symptoms of stroke, and its prevention methods.

As part of the event, an interactive quest consisting of seven stations was held. The quests' goal is to obtain and consolidate skills in providing first aid for acute cerebral circulation disorders and other vascular pathologies. The first station was informational. Here guests learned about what a stroke is, its signs, and risk factors. Kazan residents tested their knowledge gained during the theory via educational games at the second to the fifth stations. The games' names were "Truth or Myth" or " Attention! Stroke", where everyone did puzzles in the form of a human brain. People were given free blood pressure measurements and training in the Nordic walking technique at other stations, which is a useful tool for preventing diseases of the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems.

All action participants were given flyers, "First signs of stroke and heart attack," published by the Republican Center for Medical Prevention.

The local centers of medical prevention of Almetyevsk, Nizhnekamsk, Zelenodolsk, and Medical and Physical Culture Clinic of Naberezhnye Chelny will hold similar actions from October 27 to October 29, 2020.
