Dmitry Yermolaev, a 54 year old resident of Nizhnekamsk, carefully observed all safety rules from the very beginning of the pandemic: he put a mask and gloves on in public places, kept a distance, and sanitized his hands. But he still caught the coronavirus somewhere.
On the second day of having a fever he called in for a doctor, who prescribed treatment. However, the temperature remained the same. There was no cough, no apparent shortness of breath, but there was a heaviness in the chest – the lungs seemed to be squeezed in a vice. On October 9, an ambulance had to be called in, the paramedics team took the man to the hospital, and a CT scan showed second-degree bilateral pneumonia. The patient was taken to the hospital of Nizhnekamsk CRH.
"I was on an oxygen mask for several days when the saturation (the degree of blood saturation with oxygen) was below the norm. Instead of 100%, it reached 80," said D. Yermolaev. "Now I am already at home, doing physical and breathing exercises. Before a discharge, the doctors gave recommendations on how to recover from pneumonia, “added Dmitry. ”Our doctors are great fellows. I feel bad for them because of the heavy workload, many patients, a lot of paperwork, and adding to that they have to wear protective suits. But despite all of this, I never noticed any bad attitude towards any of the patients. Unfortunately, I only remember the names of the doctor Vladimir Stern, a very attentive pulmonologist, Elvina Abyzova, and Mars Kh. Mustafin. And I wish the rest of people to take care not only of themselves, but also of others. Masks are necessary not only for your protection but to prevent the spread of the infection further if you are already ill. Take care of yourself!"
