In October of this year, a patient with a serious injury - an incomplete avulsion of the foot was admitted to the Chelny Emergency Hospital.
Immediately note that with such injuries, due to the further danger of gangrene formation, no one can guarantee that it will be possible to avoid amputation. However, Aidar Nagumanov, an orthopedic traumatologist at Emergency Hospital, decided to try to keep the leg. As the physician later said, he was inspired by a successful similar surgical operation, which was in his practice earlier many years ago. Therefore, the patient was immediately sent to the operating room, where the specialist without a moment's delay began his duty.
The complex surgical procedure lasted several hours, as everything had to be done in stages. At the first stage, Aidar Anvarovich sewed up the damaged anterior tibial artery. This was the only vessel that was almost intact, and it was the only one that held the foot when the patient was brought to us. Then it was necessary to repair the other two vessels with precision. This task was accomplished with the using of special prostheses that are put in place of the damaged vessels, replacing them. After that, Aidar Anvarovich was able to start installing an external fixation device - a structure that held the bones and muscles of the leg together. The physician collected it manually during the surgical operation. The surgical operation was successful. The result exceeded even the wildest expectations: the next morning, the patient's muscles were already working, and blood circulation was fully repaired! He was discharged home from the hospital.
According to physicians' forecasts, the man will be able to fully recover and walk in the next six months. We are very happy that we have once again provided life-saving assistance.
