Story of a rescue

5 November 2020, Thursday

90-year-old Gadilya Zaripovna Gataulina was discharged from the infectious diseases hospital of Nizhnekamsk Central District Multifunctional Hospital. The war veteran with 80% lung damage was treated for five days. Despite such extensive damage, resident of Nizhnekamsk did not need to be connected to the artificial lung ventilation apparatus. The case is very rare, especially considering the age of the patient.

According to the attending physician Ildar Bishev, Gadilya Zaripova became ill on 15 October, later the condition worsened. On October 26, a CT scan showed pneumonia of 3-4 degrees of severity, and she was hospitalized.

"And on October 31, we already discharged the patient," said Ildar Bishev, who works as a urologist outside the hospital in the Urology Department of the Nizhnekamsk Central District Multifunctional Hospital. "I am still surprised that we have handled without a ventilator, because usually at this age, pneumonia is much more severe. It is a miracle. Probably, the patient had a strong character - Gadilya Zaripovna went through the war, and she worked in medicine for 26 years, knows how important the mood is for recovery. Of course, when a patient recovers and goes home, it is an effort of a whole team. Gadilya Zaripovna was also treated by Oksana Bondarenko and Olga Nosova. Of course, our nurses Aliya Sereda and Nina Petrovna Kazakova worked in my team, as well as the nurse Alina Ushakova."

Gadila Zaripovna  warmly thanked the physicians: "I have lived a long life, seen a lot, heard a lot. Our doctors are great - everyone has a big heart and they are also kind to all patients. I wish you good health and thank you very much!"
