11 November 2020, Wednesday

One of the young visiting specialists of the Nizhnekamsk Central District Multifunctional Hospital, Botirjon Ruzimatov, who works as a urologist in a consultative and diagnostic polyclinic.

Botirjon Bakhodirovich is from Kyrgyzstan. In Bishkek, he graduated from the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. Yeltsin, then completed his residency in Moscow and in November last year, the young doctor arrived in Nizhnekamsk.  "At first it was hard, and before that I assisted and operated in an in-patient care during my residency, but I didn't have any outpatient patients," - the doctor admitted. - "But the team is very good. Your people are generally kind. The rental housing that I received as a visiting young specialist also proved to be a good support."

More than half of the patients - both men and women suffer from kidney stone disease. Nizhnekamsk   residents aged from 20 to 55 years have prostatitis and urethritis, after 55 years – prostate adenoma, as well as kidney, bladder and prostate cancer.

"Sometimes patients with renal colic ask help – this is an acute pain in the lower back and an admixture of blood in the urine. All these diseases can be diagnosed and cured in the early stages, when a person undergoes medical examination. For example, during such an examination, men after the age of 46 take a blood test for a prostate-specific antigen to prevent prostate cancer. Once a year, everyone needs to undergo an ultrasound of the kidneys – to reassure that everything is in order, or for surgical treatment, if suddenly there are any abnormalities.

Men with sexually transmitted diseases also seek help from an urologist. "This is a consequence of promiscuity without protection. Most of these patients are young; some are not even 20 years old. Men, as well as women who have contracted, for example, gonorrhea, are at risk of remaining infertile. And if the human papillomavirus for women can cause cervical cancer, then for men HPV can cause penile cancer, - B. Ruzimatov added. - The only way to protect yourself from such diseases is to use contraceptive, and for those who are in a relationship, this advice is also suitable - to remain faithful to your partner, so as not to "reward" her."

Also, some residents see the urologist with other intimate problem of low potency. This is usually happens due to age, but erectile dysfunction is also observed in patients who are only 35 years old.

Women have another problem of an intimate nature - urinary incontinence, such a problem happens to those who are over 65 years old and suffer from diabetes. "Kegel exercises will help strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, and of course, women also need to move more at any age." - the doctor advised.

And Botirjon Bakhodirovich is one of the first physicians who set off to work in the hospital. The physician admitted that each shift is harder than the previous one: "At the beginning, the difference between the in-patient care and the polyclinic was very noticeable, in the summer it was difficult because of the heat, and now there is a very large flow of patients".
