A healthcare industry veteran Ekaterina Kalyazina celebrates her 99th birthday

The veteran of the health care industry, the participant of the Great Patriotic War Ekaterina Ivanovna Kalyazina celebrates her 99th birthday today. The Deputy Minister Ildar Fatikhov congratulated her on behalf of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Ekaterina Kalyazina was born on November 13, 1921. She graduated from Kazan State Medical Institute. In December 1943, she was drafted into the Red Army and arrived at the 3rd Ukrainian Front as a resident doctor, where she served in surgical hospitals. She met the Victory in Hungary in the rank of senior lieutenant of medical service.

For more than 40 years, the veteran has devoted herself to national healthcare. After demobilization, she worked as a doctor-therapist in the Usady village hospital. Since 1954, the doctor worked as a district therapist at the Kazan Optical and Mechanical Plant. She has combat, several anniversary awards, and letters of acknowledgment for many years of work.
