The World AIDS Day is celebrated annually on December 1.

The World AIDS Day always has a specific theme. This year's theme is "International Solidarity, Common Responsibility".

In 2020, the World AIDS Day will be a call for global solidarity and common responsibility, as well as for the preservation of vital services for the prevention of HIV infection, along with the implementation of urgent measures to combat COVID-19.

This year, the world's attention is focused on the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on people's lives and well-being. This pandemic has once again shown us how closely the issue of health is linked to other important issues, such as the fight against inequality, human rights, gender equality, social protection and economic growth. It is not surprising that the main theme this year was "International Solidarity, Common Responsibility".

Information events are held in all regions of the world on this memorable day. Many people wear the red ribbon, an international symbol of awareness, support and solidarity with people living with HIV. People living with HIV have the opportunity to speak out on the most important topics in their lives. Groups of people living with HIV and other public organizations involved in the AIDS issues are mobilizing to support the communities in which they work and raise funds.

The Republic of Tatarstan joins the Campaign every year. On November 27, the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a round table devoted to World AIDS Day. A video lectures on "I know exactly about HIV" on the Zoom platform was also organized for students of Kazan Federal University. Medical psychologist of the AIDS Center Firdaus Nazyrova highlighted the following topics:

- HIV. AIDS

- Ways of transmission HIV infection.

- "Window period"

- Emergency situations. What to do? Where to apply?

- History of HIV.

On the eve of the World AIDS Day, the "Test for Victory" campaign has been launched. From 14.00 to 18.00 on Bauman street near the Clock monument, the AIDS Center together with Autonomous Non-profit Charitable Organization "New Century" organized a free anonymous rapid testing with expert consultations.

(This campaign will be held until December 1, from 12.00 to 16.00. On November 28, Almetyevsk joined the action, and on November 30 -Naberezhnye Chelny).

Yesterday, on November 30, an information event was organized for students of Kazan Federal University who live in the Universiade Village. Everyone who wanted to pass an anonymous rapid test for HIV infection by saliva also had the opportunity to ask questions to the specialists of the AIDS Center.
